A total of 20 students from the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT, by its Spanish initials) on Friday, December 16th, visited Blendhub’s facilities to learn first hand about the “Portable Powder Blending” factory, internationally patented by the Murcian company.
The students, who were accompanied by Miguel Almonacid Kroeger, Professor of the Department of Engineering and Automation Systems at UPCT, were greeted by Raúl Fernandez, VP Corporate Organization, who offered introductions to the company, its products and services it provides, and explained to the visitors the company’s entrance into the new economic category of SMART Powder Blends.
Then, Eladio Valcárcel, VP Head Blending and Packaging of Blendhub, together with Mara Martinez, Project Manager, and Juan Sánchez Castillo, Head of IT Center of Excellence, accompanied the group during their visit to the “Portable Powder Blending” plant that the company has installed in Murcia.
During the “Portable Powder Blending” tour, the students were able to learn about the operation of a PLC and a SCADA, control and real-time data display systems, as well as the practical application of MES, a production control system.
The two-hour educational tour concluded with a farewell reception from the CEO and President of the company, Henrik Stamm Kristensen, in which the students of UPCT could expose their doubts about the factory and on the possibilities offered by Blendhub in their professional career.
